While it can be tempting to take a much needed break after this busy AEP, the last few weeks of the year are important for wrapping up 2024 and preparing for 2025. The time you invest now will help set you up for success next year.

Close Out Administrative Tasks for 2024

  • Make sure all your 2025 enrollments have processed correctly. This will help avoid any issues for your clients who changed plans for the coming year.
  • Track your commissions and double check your payments to ensure you are paid correctly.
  • Update your CRM tool and add any new client information including new plans, carriers, and enrollment dates. Keep client contact information up to date along with preferred methods of contact, i.e. phone call, text, or email.
  • Organize paperwork and files. You will be more productive if you tidy up your physical office space and set the tone for a fresh start to the new year.

Review 2024 Goals and Set Goals for 2025

Analyze your 2024 goals and whether you were successful in meeting them. Did you meet your goals for client retention and new prospects? Was your marketing and advertising plan effective? What was the source of your best leads? Did you stay within your budget? Did your portfolio include the carriers and plans that met your customer’s needs? By answering these questions, you can create more realistic goals for 2025 and have a better understanding of where to allocate your time and dollars next year.

Sales Strategies for 2025

It’s not too early to start to prepare your game plan for 2025:

  • Begin with your first quarter outreach to your clients, especially those who enrolled in a new plan. You should check in to see how their plan is working for them and ask if they have any questions or concerns. This is a good opportunity to remind them that you are here to assist them year round, not just during AEP.
  • Plan your campaign to proactively target the T65 audience and make it a priority to get in front of these individuals before they make a decision.
  • Continue to network and create name awareness in your community in order to build up your sales pipeline for leads and referrals.
  • Review client profiles for cross selling opportunities. After meeting with so many people during AEP, you probably have a good idea of who might be a prime candidate for cross selling. You can help your clients identify risky coverage gaps and create additional revenue opportunities for yourself.

Get Ready for Tax Season

As you wrap up 2024 and get organized for 2025, it’s the ideal time to gather all your documents and records for tax purposes including any receipts for expenses that may qualify as tax deductions. This can include any rent you pay for an office, or the cost of your home office including office supplies and utilities, mileage and parking fees for business travel, the cost of marketing and advertising, and any fees for continuing education and licensing. A professional tax preparer can help you take advantage of all the deductions available to you.
